Samsung Steals the Show at PMA 2010
February 21, 2010

When it was officially announced to the world at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the NX10 received a significant amount of praise for the fresh perspective and innovation that it brought to the new mirror-less interchangeable lens category of camera, specifically its use of an APS-C sized CMOS sensor. By utilizing such a large sensor – much larger than competing systems on the market today -- the NX10 allows consumers to create not simply capture, as it puts superior, professional quality images within reach for all consumers.

Fast-forward just a few short weeks to the annual Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Tradeshow in Anaheim, California, and Samsung’s ‘Next Generation’ camera is still turning heads. There’s no question that the NX10 is innovative, as it combines the best of a DSLR and compact point-and-shoot in an entirely new camera system -- and that’s exactly what the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) believes! At PMA’s press-only Sneak Peek event, the NX10 was presented with one DIMA’s coveted Innovative Digital Product Awards. . For 14 years straight, DIMA has given these awards to only the most innovative products to grace the show floor at PMA.

The NX10 wasn’t the only Samsung camera recognized by DIMA for its ground-breaking innovation at Sneak Peek; the newest addition to the DualView family, the TL210, was also presented with an Innovative Digital Product Award. With two 2010 DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards in hand, Samsung’s approach to lead the industry through ongoing innovation is clearly resonating with the international community.

Samsung also opened up PMA 2010 with several new cameras which add further depth, versatility and innovation to its digital imaging lineup, specifically the TL500 and TL350.

The TL500 is a high-end compact camera which received a lot of attention at the event, thanks to a full list of advanced features, most notably the camera’s lens. With the TL500, Samsung’s putting one of the brightest lenses ever featured on a compact camera right in consumers’ hands- a 24mm ultra‑wide angle Schneider KREUZNACH, f/1.8.

The TL350 is quite the speed demon! The camera features a fast processor and sensor that allows the camera to shoot super-slow motion video - up to 1,000 fps -  as well as an impressive burst mode that will take up to ten, 10MP digital stills per second. When not recording super-slow motion video, the TL350 turns into a pocket-sized full-HD camcorder with the ability to shoot 1920x1080 --- video that will look brilliant on any HDTV.
