Samsung Mobile Bringing More than 90 Charging Stations at 20 U.S. College Campuses
December 9, 2009

Samsung Mobile today dedicated the first of more than 90 charging stations at 20 U.S. college campuses. By the end of this year, Samsung Mobile plans to install charging stations at 10 colleges including San Diego State University, The University of Colorado - Boulder, Texas Tech University, The University of Texas at Dallas, Northern Iowa University, The University of New Mexico, The University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, The University of Miami and Louisiana Tech. Samsung Mobile plans to place charging stations in 10 additional schools during the spring semester of 2010.

Samsung Mobile Charging Stations are outfitted with eight electrical outlets per station, allowing several people to re-charge their electronic devices at the same time for free. The stations are built to charge personal electronics designed for U.S. voltage (i.e., 120 volts), and are also equipped with a small shelf to hold mobile phones and other electronic equipment. The charging stations will be installed in student unions and at on-campus sporting venues to keep student and faculty users’ personal electronics powered up.

To date, Samsung Mobile has installed more than 300 Samsung Mobile charging stations in 10 of the nation’s busiest airports including Miami International Airport (MIA), Houston InterContinental Airport (IAH), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) which are accessible to more than 395 million passengers.
