Samsung’s Website Goes Green and We go Hug a Tree
July 8, 2009

Do you like new, shiny, cool electronics? Well, guess what? We do too! But we also are big huge fans of Planet Earth. Conflict? Nope!

Samsung Electronics America is all about being Green. In fact, Samsung has a passion for finding that blissful combination of innovation, imagination and eco-awareness. The Samsung Recycling Direct [SM] program is all about these three values, giving Samsung fans a ton of ideas about how to improve the environment through educated, responsible consumer choices. Samsung also takes care to pair up with respected take-back and recycling companies that do not incinerate, send to solid waste landfill or export toxic waste to developing country.

In the real, living world, then, Samsung is pretty much on  top of its eco-friendly game. But what about online?

Welcome to the newest addition to the Samsung Electronics America website – the Green Area. The site allows you to find recycling locations in your area, keep track of Samsung’s lifetime national collection of unwanted electronic devices (a whopping 5,553,548 as of June 1), and browse information on eco Take-Back, Samsung’s special Mail-Back program so green-minded consumers can simply mail in their old compact DVD players, cameras, PCs, printers and more.

But no need to get all the nitty-gritty eco-friendly details here… Come check out the site in all its virtual tree-huggin’ glory at: http://www.samsung.com/us/aboutsamsung/citizenship/usactivities_environment_samsungrecyclingdirect.html.
