Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR
April 20, 2009

Energy Star PartnerSamsung has partnered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to demonstrate the house of the future in the ‘Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR' campaign. An entire eco-friendly home was constructed to demonstrate how using ENERGY STAR qualified products can help consumers minimize energy consumption and save money in the process. Samsung provided consumer electronics and home appliances for the house. The house can be toured at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. through Earth Day, April 22.

“This campaign presents a terrific opportunity for consumers to experience and learn about the positive impact choosing energy efficient products for the home can have on the environment,” said Kris Narayanan, director of marketing for Samsung Electronics America. “Samsung is proud to provide consumer electronics to this exhibit. We applaud the EPA’s efforts to promote energy-efficient alternatives for the home.”

Some of the ENERGY STAR qualified products you can expect to see are:

Samsung Series 6000 40-inch LED TV
Samsung Series 3 360 26-inch LCD TV
Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-ray player
Samsung DMR78 Dishwasher
Samsung WF448 Washer
Samsung P2370 LCD Monitor
Samsung CLX-3175FW wireless color printer

The interactive, custom-built exhibit also includes an array of environmentally-friendly building materials and is designed to demonstrate how important these practices are toward reducing energy consumption and helping to curb global warming. As part of the campaign, the EPA has partnered with organizations around the country, including manufacturers, retailers, utilities and non-profit organizations to host events that feature the ENERGY STAR House.
