Every time certain people call (Dad and best friend) when I press the answer button, the entire phone just starts shutting down. What's the deal? Also, the typing mode changes every time I go to start a new text. It always goes to abc instead of Abc. P.S. The phone does come in black/blue if y ou buy the pre-paid version.

You have to press the function (Fn) button and THEN the !/, button to get just an exclamation point.

Bluetooth file transfer is not supported, neither is memory expansion. So, the only way to actually get ring tones, graphics, etc is to buy them from AT&T? Isn't that convenient. >.<

We recommend you find out if you have an emergency number programmed in your phone. You can view the list of Service Dialing Numbers (SDN) assigned by your service provider. These numbers include emergency numbers, customer service numbers, and directory inquiries. In Idle mode, press the Menu soft key, then select Address Book ➔ Service Number. Scroll through the numbers by using the Up or Down Navigation key. For further information about SDN, we recommend you contact AT&T Customer Service, http://www.wireless.att.com/support/.

The magnet has too many annoying features such as the ascending ringtone, the beeping every time the phone is unlocked or saves something, and the inability to receive regular size audio or ringtone messages. The bluetooth really is annoying because even if you can find the headset to connect to it, you still cannot share using bluetooth.

I don`t even really care bout the extra memory, but what i wanted the most was bluetooth and it won`t pair with any other phones. Samsung or AT&T advertise this phone as something and when u purchase it, it is something else. Now i`m having regrets ever buying it

How do you load the MP3 ringtones? I downloaded the PC Studio Suite form Samsung and have been on the phone ever since with AT&T as well as Samsung. There really is no help at either place. All I really want to do is get the USB cord to connect PC Suite to my phone but it doesn'e work...and believe me, I have made an abundance of calls. I even went into our local AT&T store this weekend...they have no odea on how to help. Where is there complete information on the PC Suite and how to get it to work? Samsung told me I received the wrong USB Cord...I bought the correct one and guess what? IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. Any complete information anywhere on connectivivy of this Samsung Magnet to PC?

The slate was an awesome phone. IDK why they stopped making it. My son had one and dropped it in water (completely submerged) about 9 times and it STILL worked great! I just went to do an insurance claim on it and they stopped making it. I got the Magnet in replace of it because it is the closest thing to it. So far, everything is about the same with the two.

I am consideriing purchasing this phone. I've had a Nokia 6010 for almost 5 years now and is finally dying. I like the fact this phone is fairly simple (I only text occasionally, don't need music or other extras...I'm in my 50's) Are they planning any other color besides orange? I'm colorblind, but still orange is pretty ugly. Also, the comments about bluetooth....all I need is "hands free" operation. I assume this will be ok?\r\nAlso, if I'm going to have online capability, will I beable to access my Hotmail account?

However, I am wondering if anyone has the same strange problems i do. First, i cannot type an (!) with the keyboard. when i press and hold the comma (,) button, it types a comma, and THEN an exclamation. also, if i type a period, and then type two spaces, it throws in a second period. cannot get the bluetooth to recognize any other phones, or vice versa. its driving me nuts! will it only allow me to connect to a headset?

MMMMMMM I really love the setup and menus most samsung devices have. I think that I've memorized, it makes sense unlike other phone menus/os for lack of a better word.

Can't wait to get mine this week in the mail! My FAVE color--it's very euro looking to me--way to go Samsung! It is also reminiscent of a Sony-Erricson phone in the same color. Can't wait to hold it in my hand since it looks very ergonomic and the texture is very appealing. What kind of accessories will be available? I would be interested in a clear iPod-like case, especially for screen protection, and a matching wireless earpiece, hopefully as affordable as the phone.

doesn't this have a micro sd slot? this is a deal breaker for me. and doesn't it play music? doesn't it have the same os (that's what i'd call it. software, whatever) that the samsung propel has? the music and micro sd slot are completely important to me. i would never buy a phone without those two, and im sure that many teenagers feel the same way. Of course this isn't a music phone, but who doesn't like to just play some of your favorite songs when you want? or load many pictures or ringtones onto it? I do.

There is a pre-paid version of the Magnet, the SGH-a177, that is available in a black color option. Check out www.att.com/wireless for more info.

An exact launch date for the Samsung Magnet hasn’t been set, but look for it in the coming weeks at AT&T!

Does anyone know when the Magnet will come out? I just want to know because my contract goes up in June and I will need a new phone.

I agree with Jennifer and Paco. They should make it in other colors, too. Like maybe a light blue or lime green. It kind of looks like a BlackBerry, but I like that. I'm going to get this phone when it comes out :)

It reminds me of the Pantech Slate, only I know Samsung is a great company so I would probably choose the Magnet over the Slate. And I agree with Paco - I would love to see it in other colors. The only thing I would add to it is a micro SD slot and a music player because teens like to put a lot of music on their phones.

Wow. That's really sleek. Just looks like a fatter, smaller screen black-berry. Idk, looks cheap I'll comend you for that, but could use different colors if your trying to appeal to teens. Follow LG, they've got the idea.
