Your PMP wants to be the Samsung P3
January 7, 2009

[singlepic id=63 w=320 h=240 float=right]The Samsung P3 is what your portable multimedia player wants to be when it grows up. The P3 incorporates an evolution of Samsung’s EmoTure touch interface with true haptic feedback. The interface interprets a multitude of intricate touch commands to control device functionality, while a Music Hot Touch Key just below the screen allows listeners to instantly access their favorites without cycling through multiple menus.

The P3 features a 3-inch WQVGA touch screen LCD capable of displaying images and videos in a 16:9 aspect ratio, eliminating the need for letterboxing. Perhaps most important though is Samsung’s updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology. With DNSe 3.0 enabled, sound quality will more accurately match the tone and feel of the original production. And the integrated speakers allow users to share the sounds with others, eliminating the need for cumbersome speaker docks.

The Samsung P3 comes in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities. It’s housed in a reinforced die-cast metal casing available in black and silver matte finishes. The P3 includes an FM radio, a voice recorder and can be paired with a Bluetooth enabled phone, allowing use of the built-in microphone to answer calls directly through the player. It will be available in the first half of 2009.

Can you play the speakers with the unit closed, as in a man's shirt pocket? This is what I am looking for. I can't do this with my Samsung YP-K5, as nice as it is!

Expected pricing? Does it have WiFi? Actual screen resolution?
